My name is Svetlina Aleksandrova, and I’ve dedicated my career to veterinary medicine, specifically dermatology. After graduating in 2011, I consistently pursued opportunities to deepen
my expertise in skin diseases. My most immersive experience began in September 2019: a three- year specialization in Greece at the University of Thessaly, under the mentorship of Dr.
Saridomichelakis. This rigorous program culminated in July 2023 when I successfully passed a four-part international exam, earning me the title of European Specialist in Veterinary Dermatology.
I often describe medicine as a complex puzzle, and myself as a detective piecing together clues to form the most accurate picture. In dermatology, there’s no one-size-fits-all solution for assembling these pieces. The most effective approach is always fully individualized, tailored to the unique needs of each patient and their owners. This is precisely why I consider dermatology an art – the „recipe” is never a secret, but rather a distinct, personalized solution for every single patient.
My passion lies in blending my clinical experience with cutting-edge 21st-century scientific advancements to discover the perfect „recipe” for my patients.
In sunny Louisiana, I balance my professional life at the LSU Veterinary Medicine Teaching Hospital with my personal life. My days are a dynamic mix of clinical cases, teaching students and residents, and enjoying time with my 6-year-old son.
